From April 11 to 14, 2024, Cologne hosted the renowned fitness trade fair FIBO, which focuses on fitness, prevention and health. The trade fair showcased ground-breaking innovations in group fitness, digitalization and artificial intelligence. More than 1,000 exhibitors from all over the world presented their latest products and concepts in ten halls.
With an impressive 129,668 visitors from 114 countries, FIBO once again underlined its role as a global platform for the fitness industry, which is expected to grow by 50% in the coming years. To keep pace with this rapid growth, innovations, modern training equipment and new trend sports are essential. Digital technologies also play a key role, including advanced body measurements, such as SCANECA's optical capture, which creates 3D avatars for users.
Among the innovative equipment, Precor's improved training solutions, Matrix Fitness' Onyx range and milon's Q+ strength equipment stood out. Precor presented improved versions of well-known fitness equipment, such as a new hip thrust, a glute series and redesigned multiracks and cable pulls. Matrix Fitness presented the Onyx series, which includes a treadmill, Ascent Trainer, Climbmill, Upright and Recumbent Bike. milon, in turn, presented its expanded Q+ series of strength machines, which are equipped with particularly large screens for intuitive operation. The highlight here was the new milon X, an advanced pulley station with digital control.
Another highlight was EGYM's Genius platform, which creates personalized training plans based on just a few measurements. This AI-driven innovation automatically adjusts training progress and is even compatible with older, analog devices.
GYMwood introduced the coordination concept KOORDIwood, which was developed and is suitable for high-performance athletes, recreational athletes and rehabilitation patients alike. Together with its cooperation partner GYMwood, the EMS manufacturer eaglefit presented an innovation in muscle length training with EMS and also introduced its tried-and-tested franchise concept "EMS Room".
All in all, this year's FIBO was once again an extremely successful event for both exhibitors and visitors.
