During the Games, a total of around 1,000 Technogym machines will be available to the athletes.
Hundreds of athletes around the world are already counting down to what could be the biggest milestone of their sporting careers. Some have already had the chance to qualify, others are still fighting for a place on the "Road to Rio". One thing will be crucial for all athletes in exactly one year's time: their athletic form. As the exclusive fitness equipment supplier for all athletics centers and fitness rooms at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Technogym is helping the Olympians to achieve and maintain their top form. This is the sixth consecutive year that Technogym, an internationally renowned company in the fitness, training, rehabilitation and wellness sector, has been an official partner of the Games.
Technogym will provide a wide range of fitness equipment in Rio de Janeiro next year: The main training center in the Olympic Village in Barra da Tijuca comprises approximately 2,000 square meters of training space and is accessible to all Olympians. In addition, Technogym will also equip the 15 fitness centers and warm-up areas in the respective competition venues, which are specifically tailored to the needs of the respective sports disciplines. In total, around 1,000 Technogym machines will be available to the athletes. In addition, the Mywellness Cloud is a digital platform that Olympians can use to synchronize the equipment with their individual training program via smartphone. A team of 50 professional Technogym athletic trainers will be on site to supervise the athletes' training and answer any questions.
Nerio Alessandri, President and Founder of Technogym, commented on the partnership: "We are very proud to have been selected as the Official Supplier of the Olympic Games for the sixth time. This is a great success for the whole Technogym team and shows the appreciation of our products, innovations and quality standards." He adds: "Rio 2016 is also a unique opportunity for us to present our wellness concept in Brazil and throughout Latin America. We hope to further increase the number of people interested in regular training."
The President of the Rio 2016 Organizing Committee, Carlos Nuzman, adds: "For us, the needs of the athletes are paramount. That is why there is no question that we will only provide them with the best training material. We are now working on this together with Technogym until the start of the 2016 Summer Olympics."
