51,270 visitors attended FIBO in Cologne from April 7 to 10. Among them were also international suppliers from 109 countries, the topic of health was the focus of this year's FIBO.
After four eventful days at the trade show, FIBO 2022 came to a successful conclusion on April 10 and showed quite clearly: The fitness industry is optimistic about the future!
We spoke to some exhibitors and asked for their impressions of the world's largest fitness trade show:
Experts Allianz für Gesundheit e.V.
Mario Görlach, Chairman of the Board
"FIBO 2022 was super! At first we were skeptical whether the visitors would come again like before the pandemic and whether the trade show would make sense for us this year. But: FIBO was very valuable and also strong in sales. The quality was very high despite fewer visitors. Our mission Health Needs Training has met with great response from members and the industry."
milon industries GmbH
Wolf Harwath, Managing Director
"Especially after the pandemic, we see lifelong health training as the mega market of the next few years for broad segments of the population. As a group of companies, we feel that our presence at the trade fair more than confirms our positioning as a partner for health-oriented training. Our modular range of services in the Training Worlds meets the current demand for broad target groups and thus also for our operator customers with pinpoint accuracy."
Johnson Health Tech. GmbH
Jürgen Aschauer, Business Development Director Matrix
"The first two days of the show were super, we had expected much less of a rush. Still two weeks before FIBO we were very cautious, our expectations have been clearly exceeded. The quality of the visitors was very high, there is no major key accountant who was not there. It was definitely the right decision to come to FIBO."
schwa-medico GmbH
Rainer Beck, Director Business Development
"The relaunch of FIBO was a real start-up event. With Symbiont, honored with the FIBO Innovation Award, schwa-medico defines a new standard in bio-electrical training. The response to it has been great. This is underlined by the 'fleet change' of EMS world market leader Bodystreet and 25Minutes, who equip their more than 400 studios worldwide with Symbiont. The signal effect that emanates from this is drawing international circles. The interest shown by many studio operators - from Italy, Spain, France, the UK and Poland to South Africa, Australia and Brazil - is correspondingly high. The momentum that was already evident in the run-up to FIBO is simply overwhelming."

David Stalker, President
It was wonderful to be back at FIBO after three challenging years and once again experience first-hand the dynamic and entrepreneurial atmosphere for which the show is known.
Seeing our industry come together at these shows, sharing the latest trends and endeavors, attending thought-provoking presentations and, of course, networking with so many great friends and partners was very special to me after the last few years!
It's fantastic to be a close partner of FIBO through so many great initiatives, especially the European Health & Fitness Forum, and we look forward to being back next year when FIBO will once again be another groundbreaking and inspiring show.
SANY GmbH
Angela Pernsteiner, Founder & Owner
"A big congratulations to FIBO for having the courage to pull off the show in these times. We had qualified B2B leads at the booth and plan to take up more space next year. It was definitely the right decision to exhibit at FIBO 2022."
Schupp GmbH& Co. KG
Uwe Dieterle, Managing Director
"The industry is experiencing an upswing, I have no fears for the future. The demand for studios as well as in the home fitness sector is greater than ever. We used to focus on younger people, but now people 50+ are also being targeted. The potential is huge. The physio sector is also realizing that more needs to be done. This starts with the digitalization of customer management and doesn't stop with the type of training with apps and mobile small training devices. This is a trend we can expect to see in the fitness industry as well."
Christoph Bischoff, Chief Customer Officer
"We are very pleased that FIBO could finally take place again and that we could once again experience the personal exchange with studio operators and physiotherapists. Our new products can be explained much better in direct contact. The demand was phenomenal, the trade show is a complete success for us!"
WHOOP
Brian Curtin, Vice President International Marketing
"This is our first time at FIBO. We just launched the German app this week - so for us it was a great opportunity to connect with the audience. People here take the topic of health and fitness very seriously. We were very pleased with the quantity, but also with the quality of the visitors. Both the B2B industry and consumers were happy to see FIBO return. And yes, we are very satisfied with the experience so far. And we will definitely be back next year."
Gym Glamour
Daniel Walendziak, Owner
"Already the first two days were very successful for us. We were able to make many quality business contacts and now have some exciting projects on the horizon. Saturday and Sunday we were flooded by end customers, our sales are even better than before the pandemic. We were able to secure a larger booth and are very pleased!"
ACISO
Thomas Nemmaier, CEO
"We were really surprised how many visitors we welcomed at our booth. Nevertheless, we had enough time to have pleasant and substantive conversations. We were able to acquire many new partners for our franchise area as well as for our consulting business and also win back some customers. Our conclusion: we will gladly come again!"
Gymshark
Daniel Parkin, Event Project Manager
"Our last appearance at FIBO was in 2017, and after five years we were finally back in 2022 and able to connect with our German, but also a large international customer base. We have already almost reached our sales target. I think this is a good indicator that the fitness industry will recover quickly after Covid."
