3 Ratings

What rules currently apply in gyms in Germany? Throughout Germany, at least the 2G rule has applied since December 2021; in February 2022, the Corona Summit decided on relaxations until the beginning of spring - the Corona rules were also reduced for training in gyms in saunas and for indoor and outdoor sports. In almost all states, all restrictions fell in mid-April 2022. We provide an overview of all federal states in alphabetical order. Plus: link to the respective Corona ordinance.

Can my gym reopen?

You can find a brief overview of the decisions made by the federal states on the subject of studio opening in our alphabetical overview. In each case summarized in four by four blocks: Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Berlin & Brandenburg - Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse & Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania - Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate & Saarland, and Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein & Thuringia.

CAUTION, IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • The quarantine for healthcare workers is to be shortened as of May 2022 according to the recommendation of the Conference of Health Ministers. In future, free testing will be possible after five days at the earliest, compared with seven days previously.
  • At the beginning of April, almost all German states dropped all restrictions and only basic protection measures now apply. Shortly before Easter, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has now followed suit and members can once again train throughout Germany without 3G.
  • DSSV members can find FAQs on the Infection Protection Act from the perspective of studio operators here.
  • The basis of the anti-corona measures is the so-called hospitalization index. Its most important levels are:

< 3: known corona rules, i.e. 3G

> 3: 2G across the board (e.g., for gyms, events and restaurants).

> 6: certain measures also for vaccinated and recovered people (2G plus) for certain areas.

> 9: countries can take additional measures.

  • A current overview of the RKI with hospitalization index and further COVID-19 trends for Germany can be found here.
  • Therefore, please always inform yourself directly on site about the currently valid Corona regulations. You can reach the Corona regulations of all 16 federal states by clicking on the respective image of the state coat of arms.
  • In all federal states the following tests are approved for detection: Rapid antigen test or PCR test.
  • Different regulations apply for on-site self-tests.
  • Please check if your county or city has established different ordinances.
  • In case of doubt, contact the DSSV or your local public order or health department.
