Back problems - almost everyone is affected. Current results from the Statista Institute show that 83% of all Germans struggle with back problems several times a year. 5.3% of all sick notes are issued because of back pain - so every twentieth work loss in Germany is due to the major widespread disease "back". Over 30% of all Germans already have chronic back pain. So it's no wonder that the topic of "back health" is playing an increasingly important role. In the back circuit, milon has put together6 strength machines to perform counter-movements to everyday life. The circuit is specially tailored to all desk jockeys and keyboard jockeys - i.e. all people with a predominantly sedentary job - and mainly trains the dorsal chain. The dominant training motive for this milon circuit is to achieve freedom from pain.
Equipment in the milon back circuit
The figure circuit features the following 6 strength and endurance machines:
- Q Lat Pulldown
- Q Leg Press
- Q Back Extension
- Q Adductor
- Q Butterfly Reverse
- Q Rotator
The milon strength-endurance circuit
With the Q Lat Pulldown, the latissimus dorsi muscle, i.e. the large back muscle, is trained in particular. The latissimus is located along the entire length of the spine, starting below the scapula and ending at the upper edge of the pelvis. While the latissimus rarely plays a major role in tension, it performs the most important support and holding function for the entire back. Exercise prevents lifting injuries, stabilizes the spine and improves posture. Due to the ingenious design of the Q Lat Pulldown, the exerciser automatically assumes a correct training posture - mistakes are practically impossible.
With the Q Leg Press, the large muscle groups in the thigh and buttocks, namely the leg extensor, the leg flexor and the large gluteal muscle are specifically trained. The muscles of the buttocks and thigh form a so-called muscle loop, i.e. they work together as a chain of muscles and stabilize above all the lower back in the area of the lumbar spine. They hold the pelvis in an anatomically correct position and thus enable the spine to assume its natural double S-shaped curved position. The technically sophisticated Q Leg Press allows intuitive and efficient training of precisely this muscle loop, thus relieving the lower back immensely.
With Q Back Extension, the workout primarily targets the lower back, specifically the back extensor. This muscle group is located on both sides of the spine and keeps it upright like a corset. The back extensors are used to straighten and stretch the back, and they also allow the spine to rotate the lateral tilt. Strengthening these muscles effectively supports and straightens the lower spine, allowing the spine in the middle and upper back to align ideally. The workout thus serves to prevent back problems. The device is equipped with oval pads to distribute the pressure forces over the surface, 3 different levels on the footrests allow training for really any body size.
Q Adductor is designed for training the lateral thigh muscles. The targeted training of the adductors counteracts hip malpositions and thus relieves the sacroiliac joint . The sacroiliac joint in particular very often causes back pain, and in women it is exposed to particular stresses during pregnancy and menstruation. The intelligent design of the Q Adductor ensures that the hip angle remains open for exercisers, ensuring a comfortable workout, while the ergonomic back pad supports the back all the way up to the thoracic spine.
Q Butterfly Reverse trains the middle fibers of the hood muscle, the posterior part of the deltoid muscle, the large and small rhomboid muscles and the lower spine muscle. These muscles extend from the neck area into the shoulders. Tension in these muscle groups leads to severe pain, tension headaches and can even trigger migraines. The ergonomic back pad supports the user's back all the way to the head, and the seat height is optimized for seniors and users with hip pathologies .
The Q Rotator specifically trains the oblique abdominal muscles. Care has also been taken to make the seat height ideal for seniors or hip patients. The oblique abdominal muscles form an important counterweight to the back muscles. The abdominal and back muscles work synergistically together and should always be viewed as a unit. None of the muscle groups should be neglected. Thus, training with the Q Rotator effectively supports an upright posture and provides an effective counterweight to the back muscles. The excellent ergonomics of the Q Rotator ensure a high level of training comfort, and the device can be used quite intuitively.
Conclusion
The milon back circuit actually addresses the 83% of Germans who regularly struggle with back problems. The back circuit provides a holistic workout of all important muscle groups for back health - from the thigh and gluteal muscles to relieve the lower back, hip and sacroiliac joint, to the lower back muscles, the large muscle groups in the shoulder and neck and the oblique abdominal muscles. Thus, back health is effectively promoted, back pain can be relieved by training, training also acts as a prevention against back pain.
