Four exciting and eventful days in Cologne are behind us. FIBO was a complete success again this year. Time to take stock!
145,000 visitors from 133 nations
FIBO set new records again: 145,000 visitors came to Cologne in 2019, 2,000 more than last year. Among them were more than 84,000 trade visitors who came from 133 nations (previous year: 121) - and not only from Europe, but also from countries such as Australia, China, Thailand, India, Brazil, USA and South Africa. The trade show thus once again demonstrated that it is the world's largest and most important meeting place for the fitness and health industry.
"This makes FIBO the world's most important trading place for the industry. The objective of further enhancing the business character of FIBO by expanding its international character has been fully realized. The line-up of nations represented in Cologne is impressive. The importance of FIBO is increasing from year to year." FIBO Director Silke Frank
Exhibition space completely occupied
The available exhibition space of 160,000 m² was completely booked. 1,105 exhibitors from 49 nations presented their products and showed new trends and innovations. More than half of all exhibitors (57 percent) came to the Rhine metropolis from abroad. This also shows the role of FIBO as a leading international trade show. The most frequently represented countries were those that are also among the driving nations in the fitness market worldwide: Germany (478 exhibitors), China (103), USA (52), Netherlands (44), Poland (43), Great Britain (37), Italy (36) and Spain (27).
Investments of over 2 billion euros
Visitors are willing to invest in their studios, practices and facilities. In fact, they intend to make investments totaling more than 2 billion euros. A good one in three trade visitors had concrete investment intentions in their luggage and concluded purchase contracts at FIBO. The purchasing volume amounted to an average of 77,000 euros, and for private visitors it was 125 euros.
FIBO 2019 was also a success because the general conditions in the industry are right: The good investment climate and the dynamic market development have a positive effect and the willingness to spend money on one's own health is increasing more and more.
SAVE THE DATE
The next FIBO will take place from April 2 to 5, 2020 at the Cologne Exhibition Centre.
