The New York-based fit-tech and media company Peloton is launching its German expansion with the addition of former Spotify manager Martin Richter, according to a press release. Richter will take on the role of Country Manager Germany and, together with Retail Manager Hanna Green, will realize the upcoming German relaunch.
This includes the localization of content, logistics, customer service, marketing and partnerships. Peloton Interactive Deutschland GmbH will be based in Berlin, with the first stores opening in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Frankfurt and Düsseldorf. More than 60 employees will be working for Peloton across Germany by summer 2020. "The bike offers an efficient, challenging and motivating workout in a short space of time. We can't wait to get fitness fans in Germany excited about Peloton and live cardio training at home. The whole team is regularly part of the leaderboard themselves," says Martin Richter. Hanna Green adds: "Anyone who has ever completed a class on the bike will understand how much fun this workout is and how motivating the direct contact with the trainer via the screen and the community aspect of Peloton are. You have to try out and experience the bike - the stores in the best locations in almost all major German cities are perfect for this. They are an essential part of our strategy."
