Piloxing is an interval workout consisting of fine Pilates movements, fast boxing exercises and rhythmic dance interludes. Since it was founded in the USA in 2010, Piloxing® Academy LLC has been conquering the European market as a provider of the workout. Every week, around 1.5 million participants train in Piloxing group classes.
At this year's FIBO, Piloxing presented a new program: the high-intensity Piloxing® Knockout. In addition to the three basic elements, the fourth element adds a high-intensity functional and cardio workout that maximizes endurance.
Over six rounds, participants first complete a three-minute base consisting of intensive strengthening exercises, boxing, functional and cardio training. This is followed by a two-minute drill with classic dynamic exercises as well as burpees, push-ups and challenging twists. This high-intensity plyometric workout physically demands everything from the participants in around 45 minutes.
The training takes place with gloves, each of which contains a 250 gram granulate. The repetitive punching movements particularly strengthen the muscles in the arms, while the standing exercises based on Pilates strengthen the deeper muscle groups. Together with the elements from fitness boxing, flexibility, agility and endurance are promoted in equal measure. During the interval training, the dynamic Piloxing music and suitable dance interludes ensure fun and motivation.
