From February, the IST will be offering the new "Athlete Management" training course. How to become a personal career coach for competitive athletes!
The formerly coveted player agent license of the German Football Association has no longer been offered since April 2015 - but the appeal of this professional field remains unbroken. That's why the IST is now offering the new and unique "Athlete Management " qualification, which will enable you to provide athletes with the best possible support and position them in the challenging world of competitive sport. And the participants are not limited to the field of soccer!
The unique thing about our practice-oriented training: With this IST diploma, we offer a holistic qualification that prepares participants for the so-called 360-degree support of athletes in competitive sport.
They receive the specialist knowledge required to support athletes as an important advisor and competent contact person in almost all areas of sport. In addition to classic topics such as sports marketing, sponsorship acquisition or PR and public relations work, the focus is also on aspects of sports psychology, transfer law and business management.
The further training is aimed at those who already have some experience in this area, such as players' agents, employees of consultancy agencies, coaches or relatives of competitive athletes. On the other hand, it is aimed at anyone who is new to the management, marketing and consulting of athletes in the performance segment.
Dominic Peitz, professional footballer at Karlsruher SC, sums it up as follows: "The IST further training course 'Athlete Management' offers an excellent basis for working in the professional environment of a professional athlete. All the topics relevant to us athletes are covered and provide a 'guide' for successful cooperation in competitive sport. For us professional athletes, it is important that we have professional help on and off the pitch so that we can concentrate on our sport, as the demands surrounding sport are becoming increasingly complex."
