The American fitness equipment provider has acquired the Octane Fitness brand for just under 115 million US dollars.
According to Nautilus, the aim of the purchase is to reach new markets and sales channels and also to enter the higher price segment. To date, the company has been able to generate two thirds of its revenue by selling its own products. With the acquisition of Octane, the company could now score points in the professional fitness studio sector. The brand is also mainly sold through specialist retailers.
Octane was founded in 2001 and is based in Minnesota, USA. The focus is on fitness products for a gentle workout. Octane expects sales of around 65 million euros for 2015.
