JumpingHow does the course concept with the mini-trampoline prove itself in studios? F&G asked

At the beginning of April 2014, Jumping® Fitness became known to the general public in Germany when host Markus Lanz cashed in his bet on a jumping trampoline during "Wetten, dass..."! The training system, which can now be found in 50 German cities, was also presented to the media at this year's FIBO. F&G took a closer look at Jumping® Fitness and asked studios that already offer jumping classes.

Jumping is a workout on a specially designed mini-trampoline. The licensed fitness concept, which develops its full effect in a group, is characterized by the functional design of the hexagonal trampoline with pole and handle.

Where does Jumping come from?
Jumping was developed in 2001 by two Czech fitness trainers who were looking for a fitness program that was motivating, effective and suitable for everyone.
Jumping now exists in over 20 countries worldwide, even in Kuwait. In Germany, Jumping has only been around since the beginning of 2014, but it is now already present in more than 50 cities.
As a combination of dynamic endurance training and energetic music, Jumping is the interplay of fast, sprint-like jumps and slow, powerful elements. The training is rounded off with balance exercises and extended stretching.

Training effects?
F&G asked Jumping Deutschland GmbH in Berlin about the training effects and we got some impressive answers:
According to Jumping Deutschland, jumping trains more than 400 muscles and burns up to 1,200 calories per hour. This makes jumping three times more effective than jogging. Jumping improves fitness, promotes coordination and strengthens balance. The intensive interval training is also said to have a positive effect on the core muscles and accelerate fat burning - and: the higher the jumping speed, the greater the calorie consumption. The body is formed and strengthened; the result is already visible after a short time with regular training.
Course participants can determine their individual training intensity on the trampoline at any time. The game with the gravity is to provide thereby for good mood and help to switch off and forget the everyday life worries.

Target groups?
The Fitnesskonzept of Jumping is suitable for a large sport-enthusiastic target group, since the varied exercises are back-fair and joint-gentle. The basic aerobic steps in Jumping can be learned quickly and direct success is possible for participants of any fitness level.
Although it is also possible to purchase a Jumping professional trampoline privately, the primary goal of the Berlin headquarters is to spread the overall concept of Jumping. This includes the training of trainers and the professional implementation of the courses, because that is the heart of the concept.
The Jumping Fitness offer is therefore aimed primarily at gyms looking for a special highlight for their course program and at creative fitness trainers who are keen to try something new.
In addition, Jumping Deutschland GmbH is always on the lookout for suitable premises, for example in dancestudios.

Requirements in studios?
Here, too, the information provided by Jumping Fitness Deutschland is surprisingly simple and clear: all it takes to successfully establish Jumping is a room large enough to set up a couple of trampolines in and a bit of space for storage. The Jumping Professional trampolines can be stacked on top of each other.
The "rest" would be taken care of by the headquarters in Berlin.

Reason enough to ask
The images, attributes and statements that precede Jumping Fitness naturally prompted us at F&G to ask. What is the truth? How is the Jumping concept actually proving itself in gyms? What do owners, trainers and members have to say?

How is Jumping performing in the gym

Asked by Yvette Richter
Yvette RichterYvette Richter has been in the fitness and health industry for over 20 years and has worked in various studios as a fitness and group fitness instructor. In November 2012 she fulfilled her dream of her own "small but nice" course studio in Porta Westfalica-Eisbergen, the "Körperzeiten"!
In the approx. 90 m2 course room daily courses take place: Jumping® Fitness, DeepWORK®, Zumba, Functional Toning, Yoga, Pilates and Qi Gong. The body times stands for health and well-being, professionalism, personality, friendliness and exercise that is fun in a modern ambience!

F&G: How did you become aware of Jumping?
YvetteRichter: A protracted foot injury made it necessary for me to start looking for a new course concept in January 2014. It should be something that was not yet offered in other studios. It had to be fun and, most importantly, it had to be an effective, healthy workout that was easy on the joints and easy on the back - both for my customers and for me as a trainer!
I finally came across Jumping Fitness via the Internet.

F&G: Why did you decide on this concept?
Yvette Richter: Already in February 2014 I was able to participate in the first Jumping Trainer training in Germany.
Although it was a strenuous and sweaty training, I knew pretty quickly: Jumping Fitness should be it.
From the beginning I felt good on my trampoline and had a lot of fun doing it. The music motivated me to keep going, the steps were easy to follow and I didn't feel any pain in my foot. That had been my biggest worry!

F&G: How does Jumping work for you in your daily routine?
YvetteRichter: Since March 2014, I have been offering five weekly Jumping Fitness classes at my studio. All classes are very well utilized.

F&G: What is the feedback from your employees and trainers?
YvetteRichter: My employee, was originally a customer as well. She had so much fun with Jumping that she decided to train as a Jumping instructor herself just a few weeks after the course was introduced.

F&G: What is the feedback from your members and customers?
YvetteRichter: My customers were really enthusiastic about Jumping right from the start. Those who have caught the jumping fever come to the studio regularly week after week for training. And the "regularity" of the training is what counts, I think.
My customers always say they enjoy the great atmosphere in the classes, the simple steps and/or jumps, the "feeling of lightness" on the trampoline and still having the feeling of training intensively, but also effectively and healthily.

F&G: Are you satisfied with the support from Jumping?
YvetteRichter: I am completely satisfied with the support from Jumping Germany. If I have any problems or questions, such as training dates or the purchase of additional trampolines, I can contact Jumping Germany at any time.

F&G: What should studios consider that are interested in the concept of Jumping?
YvetteRichter: Of course, anyone who decides in favor of Jumping Fitness must identify with it, must be enthusiastic about it, and must also pass this enthusiasm on to their customers. In addition, training to become a Jumping instructor is an absolute must. The training team is really competent.
In addition, the studios should be aware that they are only allowed to offer Jumping Fitness with the original Jumping Fitness trampolines specially developed for this sport!
