What could be better than a warm tea on a chilly day? Tea can do much more than make you feel cozy on the couch, though; the valuable extracts can boost your immune system and support your health.

The favorite combination of ginger and lemon is ideal for the immune system: ginger has an anti-inflammatory and expectorant effect, the many essential oils of ginger get the circulation going and activate the metabolism. The valuable antioxidants in ginger stimulate the immune system. Scientific studies have shown that gingerol, like citric acid, also activates the molecular defense system in our spleen. The fresh lemon also provides an extra portion of vitamin C. The vitamin stimulates the formation of white blood cells and antibodies, thus actively boosting the body's defenses. If the mixture is too spicy for you, you can refine the health tea with a little honey - but only sweeten it when the tea has cooled down a bit. Honey has an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, and the enzymes from honey also stimulate the formation of T-cells in the body.

Echinacea tea, better known as coneflower tea is also full of valuable ingredients: essential oils, flavonoids, polysaccharides and vitamin C all act on the immune system and strengthen the body's defenses. The University of Connecticut found in a study that echinacea can reduce the risk of catching a cold by up to 58% and shorten the duration of an illness by up to one and a half days.

Flavonoids are likewise found in sage tea, which additionally scores with a lot of essential oils, many tannins and triterpenes. Triterpenes have an anti-inflammatory effect, tannins, also known as tannins have an antibacterial effect. Tannins have an astringent, meaning contracting, effect and thus condense the mucous membranes of the mouth and throat when enjoyed as tea. This makes it much more difficult for bacteria to spread. In combination with fresh mint and a dash of lime juice, a boring health tea becomes a delicious fitness drink for the cold season.

Against the inner pig dog - training in a group increases motivation

After the initial motivation comes the "inner pig dog": Especially in autumn, many people have problems with motivation. That's why fall is just the right time to revise your course offering and add a few new trendy sports to your course program. Intensive exercise boosts the immune system, while group sports boost motivation. However, the dose is very important: too much training can do more harm than good. Make your instructors aware that exercise can do more harm than good if you already have a cold. Participants who are already ill should better not take part in the training - both for their own health and to avoid infecting other participants. Sports that have a positive effect on the cardiovascular system are particularly good for the immune system. Spinning, Zumba and aerobics are not only great for the figure, but also have a proven effect on the formation of B and T cells in the blood. "Mens sana in corpore sano" was said by the ancient Romans, meaning "A healthy mind in a healthy body." Stress and overwork make us more susceptible to illness and weaken the immune system. Yoga, Pilates or progressive muscle relaxation are effective helpers against stress and thus also actively help health. These sports are also extremely helpful for headaches, fatigue or migraines.

Conclusion

In the cool, autumnal season, the peak season in the gym begins. At the same time, the cold phase starts now: help your members now at the beginning of autumn to actively strengthen their immune system and offer the right courses for motivating group workouts. A variety of delicious teas at the sports bar not only provide relaxation after the workout, but also help your members prevent colds.
