Honor to whom honor is due: The winners of the FIBO Innovation & Trend Awards 2022 have been announced! On April 6, the day before FIBO, they were announced and selected during the European Health and Fitness Forum. Thus, the fitness and health industry has once again proven: It is as innovative and imaginative as it was before the pandemic and is now returning with renewed vigor.
With their ingenuity, the winners of this year's FIBO Innovation & Trend Awards have convinced the international jury and prevailed against strong competition. The high demand and the number of entries were also a very positive signal from the industry that the pandemic period was being used for innovative project developments. Much to the delight of the five-member jury, which was spoiled for choice in a session lasting several hours.
Now they have been decided: seven winners were chosen in a total of six categories.
Ecology and sustainability category
Ergofit GmbH/ Ergofit Row: With the new Fluidmotion braking technology, developed in collaboration with sports engineers and competitive athletes at German universities, rowing with the Ergofit Row becomes a unique and natural feeling, just like rowing on real water. Health & Prevention Category

An absolute exception in 2022: two winners in the performance category
This year, there is a special novelty: in the Performance category, the jury has chosen two winners at once. An absolute exception that has never been seen before in the previous year's Innovation Awards. But both products have a high degree of innovation, which was honored by the jury. The reason given: On the one hand, they could not be more different in their areas of application - classic vs. digital training - and on the other, they offer excellent benefits for the fitness industry. This was by no means an easy decision for the jury, and one that was discussed at length. Many criteria were taken into consideration and in the end it was clear to everyone that both products absolutely deserved the FIBO Innovation Award.

Skain GmbH/ Curve Workout by Trackbar: "Curve Workout" makes it possible to self-track workouts, especially through free exercises, and improves the efficiency and safety of performance-based training. The combination of important trends such as gamification, networked hardware and open ecosystems are definitely promising conditions for the introduction of this product in gyms.
