FIBO, which was scheduled to take place from June 24 to 27, has been postponed and will be held in Cologne from November 4 to 7.
FIBO has to be postponed again due to the coronavirus pandemic. The trade fair will not take place at the end of June, but from November 4 to 7, 2021.
"We want to bring the fitness industry together for an urgently needed exchange - but only when all the conditions for safe participation for exhibitors and visitors are in place. The current course of the pandemic and the delays in the provision of vaccines do not currently give us and the exhibitors sufficient planning security for the originally planned June date. We have therefore jointly decided on a new FIBO date in the fall. We will combine physical and digital components in order to allow the entire international fitness industry to participate in the trade fair."
Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, Chairman of the Management Board of the organizer Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH
In November, FIBO will place a strong focus on the future of the fitness industry and focus on individual solutions to overcome the corona crisis. FIBO 2021 will showcase new, health-oriented studio and training concepts, highlight growth opportunities for the industry after corona and accompany the industry with best practices and future scenarios for digitalization.
"Fitness also makes an indispensable contribution to the health of the population from a medical perspective. Together with our partners, we are providing concrete answers as to how not only fitness studios and trainers, but the entire industry can ensure its long-term economic success after the coronavirus crisis."
Silke Frank, Event Director of FIBO
Partners and events at FIBO
FIBO partners EuropeActive, the DSSV, FitTech, the DGSP, Georg Thieme Verlag, the German Wellness Association, SpaCamp and the Sportärztezeitung, which will offer a "Sports Medicine Day" at the trade show on FIBO Saturday, are also on board. FIBO will take a look at the topics of membership and customer acquisition, digitalization, technology and e-commerce, market developments, trends and social changes in order to successfully implement new training and therapy concepts.
FIBO will once again present the contents of the Ascent Congress digitally. In the "Meetingpoint Health & Wellness", lectures on physiotherapy, digitalization and BGM, sports medicine and sports physiotherapy as well as fitness and wellness will create synergies with the current focus topics of the health industry. The focus is on integrating these into the company's own offering and (re-)acquiring members or customers.
The hall layout
The concentration on the core themes is also reflected in a new hall layout in the fall. FIBO will occupy Halls 1, 4.2 and 5.2 with the areas of training equipment, health, consulting, interiors, wellness and functional training, and Halls 2.1 and 2.2 with the areas of fashion and beauty, nutrition, group fitness and bodybuilding.
The European Health Futures Forum (EHFF)
FIBO will kick off with the European Health Futures Forum (EHFF). The international congress will take place on November 3. Interactive sessions with top-class European and international speakers will cover the areas of health, digital, community and standards. In addition, current market data on the state of the industry after Corona will be published. Other EuropeActive events such as the EuropeActive's European Fitness Associations Forum, the President's Council Summit and the International Standards Meeting (ISM) complete the FIBO Week for the international fitness industry.
