FIBO is the world's largest trade show for fitness, wellness and health. After the initial postponement of the date, FIBO 2020 was scheduled to take place in Cologne from October 1 to 3. The serious consequences of the Covid 19 pandemic have now led the organizers to take the very sensible step of canceling FIBO 2020 as a trade visitor show and launching it as an online-only event instead.
FIBO 2020 goes digital
FIBO@business combines numerous international forums, congresses and other formats for trade visitors, including among others the online edition of the European Health & Fitness Forum. For private visitors, there is a separate virtual event format, FIBO@home.
The decision not to stage FIBO as a live event at the Cologne exhibition center was made after numerous discussions with exhibitors and partners. "Together, we had hoped to get back on track with the industry in October after the month-long lockdown. Unfortunately, this will not be the case due to the ongoing development of the pandemic and the associated uncertainty," said Hans-Joachim Erbel, CEO of organizer Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. FIBO had already been postponed from its original April date to October with the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.
"Many of our exhibitors have asked for an alternative to the face-to-face trade show. Our goal with FIBO@business is to offer an event format that will safely bring the industry together, especially in this extraordinary situation, to provide the much-needed impetus for a fresh start as soon as the crisis subsides," Erbel continued.
The focus of FIBO@business will be on fitness, health, physiotherapy, prevention and corporate health management. The global character of FIBO will also be reflected in the digital trade show. It will kick off on September 30 with the European Health & Fitness Forum (EHFF), which this year will be held online and on-site as a hybrid event with numerous top speakers. Other main partners of FIBO@business include the German University of Prevention and Health Management with the Aufstiegskongress and the Fittech Summit with top trends and future topics from the fitness and health industry.
Tickets remain valid
Owners of a valid ticket for FIBO 2020 can thus visit both the digital trade show in October and FIBO 2021 (April 08-11, 2021) in Cologne.
In addition to product demonstrations and innovations, the focus will be on direct contact between exhibitors and trade visitors. For this purpose, the platform will offer various tools such as "Pre-Booked Video Matchmaking" and "Drop-In Meetings". In addition, there will be product innovations available around the clock in the content area.
FIBO 2021
FIBO 2021 is scheduled to take place in Cologne from April 08 to 11, 2021, in the usual manner. Private visitors can use their tickets for FIBO 2020 in 2021, or take advantage of FIBO's refund service.
