Exercise is Medicine Days: FIBO takes action against lack of exercise

5 Ratings

Setting an example against the lack of exercise in society: That is the aim of FIBO as a member of the "Exercise is Medicine" initiative. Together with Europe Active, the world's leading trade show is organizing the Exercise is Medicine Days on Friday and Saturday as part of the Fitness & Health Forum in Hall 8.

More than ever, exercise is to be brought into the focus of medical professionals, politics and society. Physical activity still plays too small a role in medical practice. For about a year now, FIBO has been a trusted partner of the "Exercise is Medicine" initiative. As an important interface between fitness and health, the world's leading trade show is committed to ensuring that sports and fitness are used as essential tools to promote health, prevent disease and support healing processes.

"In a panel of EIM Germany and Europe, the DGSP (German Society for Health and Prevention) and Europe Active, we are implementing the theme of motivating the entire population to exercise more at the Exercise is Medicine Days [...] in a high-profile forum." AnkeBrendt, Product Manager Trade Show Organizers RX Austria & Germany

Covid topics dominate FIBO Friday.

The corona pandemic is still omnipresent and has been accompanying our society for more than two years now. All the more, the topic of long covid is moving to the forefront and will be among the topics of the presentations and expert talks at FIBO Friday.

An interview will also focus on karate fighter Lena Mikulic, who is still struggling with the consequences of Covid-19 months after her infection. She shares her experience with the audience. What is already known about the mechanisms of Long-Covid will be explained by Prof. Dr. Wilhelm Bloch, Head of the Institute for Circulatory Research and Sports Medicine at the German Sport University Cologne, in his expert contribution.

FIBO Saturday: Exercise-is-Medicine solutions on an international level

The second day will focus on Exercise-is-Medicine solutions in different countries and the industry. How the initiative is doing in Poland will be reported by Anna Plucik-Mrożek, manager of the Polish Exercise is Medicine Center.

Thomas Schramm, MD, vice president of the German Society for Health and Prevention, reports on how to organize a local network with a cardiology focus practice. Prof. Leyk has built a network "ActIv - Activate Individuals" with over 10,000 participants to reach previous non-athletes, better motivate athletes and at the same time gives practical examples of how professionals can reach a wider audience.

Networking at the Meeting Point Health & Wellness (Hall 8).
