Technogym is participating in the Olympic Games in Rio (August 5 to 21) as an official supplier. The manufacturer of equipment in the fitness, rehabilitation and wellness will be the Official Supplier for fitness equipment at the Olympic Games for the sixth time after London (2012), Beijing (2008), Turin (2006), Athens (2004) and Sydney (2000).
Technogym will equip 15 sports venues, including the Aquatics Center, the golf course, the tennis center and the 2,000 square meter training center in the Olympic Village in Barra di Tijuca, with over 1,200 machines to create optimal training conditions for the 10,000 athletes. All machines have a cloud application so that athletes can access their individual training plans via smartphone. In addition, 50 of Technogym's own trainers will be present in Rio.
The President and founder of Technogym, Nerio Alessandri, who floated his company on the stock exchange is delighted about the collaboration: "We are very proud to have been selected as an official supplier to the Olympic Games for the sixth time. "Let's Move for Rio"
Technogym launched the social campaign "Let's Move for Rio" on July 24, with the aim of donating part of the equipment of the Rio training centers to the Olympic legacy. Athletes and fitness enthusiasts can use Technogym's digital platform "Mywellness cloud" to measure their physical activity during the Olympic Games. Technogym will then convert these results into equipment and donate equipment to 22 public fitness facilities in Rio's most disadvantaged communities. "Rio 2016 will also provide a unique social opportunity to promote wellness in Brazil and throughout Latin America and to encourage more and more people to engage in regular physical activity," said Alessandri.
