TheraPro - Following the presentation of a corresponding position paper by the CDU/CSU parliamentary group in the Bundestag in March of this year, the political discussion on the future positioning of the healthcare professions has been opened. A modern training, a good payment and a stronger responsibility in the practical everyday life are the goal of the initiative. Thus, under the term "Direct Access", a topic of discussion has already been set for TheraPro, which will take place in January 2016. Already for the fourth time, the industry will meet in Stuttgart to inform, educate and purchase in a combination of congresses and exhibition. Physical and occupational therapists, osteopaths and masseurs will meet exhibitors of training and fitness equipment, practice furnishings and equipment, and practice organization. Four congresses as well as workshops and lectures in the hall make TheraPro complete. A novelty in the congress program is the South German Speech Therapy Day, which "Logo Deutschland", the newly founded professional association for independent speech therapists, is organizing for the first time in Stuttgart.
10 years of physiokongress
Already firmly established is the physiokongress, organized by Thieme Verlag, which will celebrate its tenth anniversary next year and once again offer top-class speakers and a wide-ranging program. The focus in 2016 will be on direct access, i.e. direct access of patients to therapists. This highly topical subject will be tackled using the examples of pain therapy and assessments. On Saturday, neurorehabilitation is again on the agenda with topics on motor learning and evidence of effectiveness in physical therapy. In the afternoon, one session is dedicated to swallowing. Occupational therapists and speech therapists, whose sessions are held on Sundays, can attend the Neuroreha Day. The ergotag organized by Thieme is also celebrating its tenth anniversary, with the motto on Sundays being "In the thick of things instead of just being there - occupational therapists are inclusionists."
The Association of Physical Therapy (VPT) invites participants to further education and professional exchange on Saturday as part of the 3rd Southern German VPT Symposium Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria. The focus here is on the topic of CMD, thus the dysregulation of muscle or joint functions of the temporomandibular joints and their therapy.
TheraPro makes therapists fit
Visitors to TheraPro will find four conferences, numerous seminars, lectures and workshops and a further expanded range of training courses. In addition, Messe Stuttgart is also planning an increase of at least 15 percent in the number of exhibitors, according to division manager Andeas Wiesinger. "We are already well above last year in terms of registrations and are finding that TheraPro has established itself in the minds and schedules of our customers," Wiesinger reports. Therapro, together with Medizin, which takes place at the same time, will once again attract more than 9,000 visitors to the trade fair center in Stuttgart and offer therapists a wide range of opportunities for professional exchange and further training at the start of the year.
