Founded in 1988, Proxomed focuses on rehabilitation clinics, outpatient rehabilitation facilities and physiotherapy practices with a wide range of medical therapy and training equipment and software solutions.
Last year, Proxomed rethought its fundamental corporate strategy and restructured the company. New products were added to the range, new software solutions were developed, the service was restructured and processes within the company were optimized. The changes have not stopped at the management level and the structure of the company.
The background to these measures are the changes in the healthcare market and a stronger focus on the needs of patients and the company's customers.
"The changes in the healthcare market are leading to constantly rising healthcare expenditure and have become one of the largest cost blocks in public budgets. This development is being accelerated by medical progress and demographic change. This has led to massive pressure on the budgets of healthcare facilities. Today, a rehabilitation clinic has to provide more services for the same budget and respond to the situation with faster and more efficient treatment methods. In addition, we want to take greater account of the needs and benefits for patients in future," reports Antoni Mora, CEO of the medical training equipment manufacturer proxomed.
Back in 2013,Proxomed identified the needs of the facilities and the potential for offering appropriate products and concepts.
One example is the AlterG anti-gravity treadmill, which has been added to the portfolio and enables patients with severe muscular and joint disorders of the legs and back problems to exercise with virtually no discomfort. This new type of exercise therapy was previously not possible for many patients. AlterG also contributes to a significantly faster rehabilitation phase.
proxomed is already well established in the fight against back pain with its Tergumed 700 range of equipment. fle-xx.vib takes a different approach to therapy. In the search for a method to effectively combat back pain, proxomed has redesigned a well-known and effective system, vibration technology, for local application in the back area with simultaneous stretching. The results are clearly noticeable for patients after just a short period of use due to the reduction in back pain and the increase in mobility.
With the BTE Eccentron, proxomed presented a medical training device at Therapie Leipzig with which the company will continue to consistently pursue this new path as a solution provider. The BTE Eccentron enables training for numerous medical-therapeutic indications in rehabilitation.
