The Austrian manufacturer of infrared cabins Physiotherm is planning to reorganize its logistics and production in 2017. Since the German market is now the most important for the company, it is to be served directly from the German production plant. Physiotherm wants to work more economically in this way, because currently the infrared cabins produced in Saxony make a detour via the headquarters in Thaur, Austria, when they are delivered. In the next six to eight months, the logistics are now to be changed over.
But what does this shift from Austria to Germany mean for the employees? Rumor has it that up to 50 jobs will be relocated from Tyrol to Saxony. According to Managing Director Josef Gunsch, this would not be true. At most, five out of ten jobs in logistics could be eliminated in Thaur, but the company will look for new fields of employment for the affected employees.
