Premium manufacturer further expands the digitalization of endurance training
Life Fitness the world's leading manufacturer of premium fitness equipment, is expanding the technical possibilities for personalized cardio training training. The company is further developing its endurance equipment so that it automatically connects to the Apple Watch. This makes it even easier for athletes to record and evaluate the exact measurements of their training.
At the start of training, the Apple Watch only needs to be held up to the device's console to establish a connection. There are no additional apps to download, extra buttons to press or special menus to navigate - the data on heart rate, calories burned, distance, speed and incline are transferred automatically.
"We are excited to continue driving the digitalization of the fitness industry with this innovation," says Jaime Irick, President of Life Fitness. "More than 700 million workouts are completed on our cardio machines every year. And we know that athletes want personalized training with easy-to-record parameters. We can now offer them that." Life Fitness is thus demonstrating its pioneering role in providing exceptional training experiences.
The Apple Watch can be used on devices with the Discover SE HD tablet console - Life Fitness' premium endurance product - later this year. This console is available on treadmills in 21-inch format and on cycle ergometers, cross trainers and PowerMill Climbers with 16-inch screens for high-definition television or HD streaming services. In future, other devices from the Life Fitness brand family will also be networkable with the Apple Watch. This includes equipment from Cybex, SCIFIT and the Indoor Cycling Group.
"Life Fitness offers gym operators solutions for the networked club," says Irick. "This enables managers to offer athletes an even better service and use data themselves for the intelligent further development of their facilities."
