Just Dance - New results of a fitness survey

4 Ratings

Ene recent survey of 1,000 German fitness enthusiasts shows that 81% of participants cite the pure joy of exercise as their main motivation for taking part in a fitness course. Other reasons for exercising include burning calories (76 percent) and the opportunity to relax and reduce stress (67 percent). These results also explain the worldwide popularity of the Zumba® program. Among other things, a study by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) shows that Zumba participants actually burn more calories than cardio kickboxing, step aerobics, hooping or power yoga.
The survey also shows that the enthusiasm of German fitness enthusiasts for dance-based fitness programs is at least as great as in the USA. For example, 96 percent of Germans think that dance-based workouts are particularly popular (compared to 74 percent in the US study). In addition, 99 percent of those who already attend a class want to continue to do so regularly over the next 12 months.
"Fitness programs and workouts should not be something you are forced to do, but rather physically and emotionally rewarding," says Alberto Perlman, Zumba CEO. "The survey proves what we have been emphasizing for years: People are more likely to stick with a workout if it's fun and enjoyable."
