Secretly and without much fuss, the ÖSV ski stars recently spent some time in Linz. They were at the Lentos Museum for a photo shoot by sponsor and equipment supplier Technogym in action.
The countdown for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang is on - in less than 189 days it will be that time again. The skiers, who will once again bring Austria many medals at the major winter event, have long been sweating in summer training for the season's highlight. Gottfried Wurpes, founder of "The Fitness Company," asked Austria's aces, including Marcel Hirscher and Anna Veith, to an unusual shoot at the art museum.
"Technogym has been the official outfitter of the Austrian Ski Association since October 2015 - a partnership that I think is working out very well for both sides. Because our intention is not "just" to be a sponsor of the red-white-red winter sports heroes, but to be an active partner. We want to set impulses, accompany the athletes on their way - even or especially if this way is a long and steep one. We want to stand by them with all our know-how and support them. I am firmly convinced that we are on the right track with this philosophy," writes Wurpes in his article on www.fitness.at.
Hütter back on skis
ÖSV racer Cornelia Hütter has strapped on her skis again seven months after tearing cruciate ligament and meniscus in her right knee. According to ÖSV information, the Styrian completed ten free runs on new material without any problems Thursday morning on the Stilfser Joch in South Tyrol. "I felt the positive impression I gained today right from the start, hoped for it and expected it just as much, and I'm delighted to have been confirmed in this," said a delighted 24-year-old, who switched from Völkl to Head. Hütter is certain that she will also be able to join the training camp of the women's speed group of the Austrian Ski Federation (ÖSV) in Chile after further skiing sessions from the end of August. "That's fixed," says Hütter.
