Functional Training is a new training method that combines elements of traditional strength training, which trains individual muscle groups through various exercises, with dynamic exercises that act as a whole-body workout. The focus of the exercises is on the muscles that are needed for natural movements and thus leads to positive training experiences regardless of the level of training. Functional training thus makes it possible to create a more flexible and individualized training plan and to specifically satisfy the needs of individual exercisers.
This trend is now also being taken up by fitness equipment manufacturer Technogym. The newly developed OMNIA system combines various training methods: both equipment training and training with accessories such as dumbbells or kettlebells as well as bodyweight training are combined. Other possibilities of functional training are also core training.
The main goal of OMNIA training is to improve the flexibility of muscles in a safe and effective way. The training is designed to make the user feel good, to help them with strength training and to make it fun. The training method can be used alone, in a group or for rehabilitation purposes. The special feature of OMNIA is also the wide range of accessories, which allow almost endless training variations. Of course, it also includes the appropriate software, which allows the trainer to select exercises and compile individual training programs. End users can also use the associated mywellness app to check their training successes and access further information on individual exercises as well as videos.
