The healthcare market in Germany is an economic heavyweight. Health, prevention, rehabilitation and care are issues of great social relevance. The continuous political and legal changes increasingly require social and medical institutions to act economically. Employees who are able to manage health promotion tasks from a business perspective are therefore increasingly in demand.
The "Health Business Administrator" further training course offers employees from practical professions such as geriatric nurses and nurses, medical assistants, physiotherapists and occupational therapists as well as medical bath attendants and masseurs a special opportunity: with the additional commercial qualification, they are recommended for management tasks in management, e.g. in health-oriented fitness facilities, prevention-oriented health and therapy centers, sports centers and associations, health insurance companies and insurance companies, nursing as well as rehabilitation and spa facilities.
In order to be able to adequately fulfill the tasks that arise here, a healthcare business economist requires not only basic business management knowledge, but above all special economic knowledge related to the healthcare sector. Knowledge of profitability and cost structures in healthcare facilities is just as important as quality management and an understanding of the special structure of the sector.
The specialized distance learning course at the IST provides participants with exactly the knowledge they need in their position - at the interface between management and operational level. The "Gesundheitsbetriebswirt/-in" course starts in October.
