The Beauty Düsseldorf trade fair attracted around 55,000 visitors to the Düsseldorf exhibition halls from March 16 to 18. The IST was also on site and provided advice on individual career opportunities in the cosmetics, beauty, wellness and health sector.
In addition to acquiring new customers, the trade fair also helped the IST to cultivate customers and networks and to identify new trends to improve existing training courses and establish new ones.
The "Spa Manager of the Year" has been awarded at the trade fair since 2012. In keeping with tradition, a number of IST graduates were nominated for the title again this year. 40 spa managers had applied for the title, reported Lutz Hertel, Chairman of the German Wellness Association. The ten most promising candidates were also on site, including two IST graduates and the eventual winner of the title, Maren Brandt, the corporate spa manager of IST cooperation partner Fleesensee SpaWorld.
At the IST stand in Hall 9, there were always interesting people to talk to, including IST prospective and current students and graduates, as well as lecturers, cooperation partners and some well-known figures from the industry.
On the opposite stage, the meeting point "Spa & Wellness", numerous personalities with close ties to the IST gave exciting presentations. These included IST lecturers Raoul Kroehl (Spa eMotion) and Sylvia Glückert (Well-Consult), IST graduate and cooperation partner Angelika Baur-Schermbach (Face & Body) and Joram Schirmaier, Spa Manager of IST cooperation partner Öschberghof.
"Beauty has once again proven to be a great industry meeting point for us," summarized IST industry specialist Simon Kellerhoff, Head of Marketing & Sales Health & Wellness. "Our industry network is an important argument for our students and graduates when deciding on our training courses. The high profile within the industry secures the reputation of the IST and our degrees. Although no graduate has yet made it to first place in the Spa Manager of the Year competition, we are proud that numerous graduates make it into the top 10 year after year, pursue their career path in the industry, and that we are able to be part of this success with our training courses," Kellerhoff continues.
