In 2023, FIBO will expand its range of sporting activities to include the HYROX fitness contest, which will be held at the World's Leading Trade Show for Fitness, Wellness and Health in Cologne from April 13 to 16.
Functional training, HIIT, running: three training methods, one competition for everyone. What premiered in Hamburg in 2017 has since established itself as one of the most challenging fitness challenges worldwide. In 2023, FIBO is bringing the "HYROX" sports event to the Cologne exhibition center as part of a new cooperation. The focus is on promoting physical activity in everyday life. The mission is to raise awareness among the general public for a healthy, active lifestyle. Target groups that lack motivating training goals such as comparison situations in competitions, such as visitors to fitness studios or runners, are particularly addressed - regardless of age or gender.
"With HYROX, we have found a partner that not only fits perfectly with FIBO and our brand, but also with the interests of our visitors," says a delighted Silke Frank, Event Director of FIBO. The world's leading trade show for fitness, wellness and health is a pioneer when it comes to literally moving society. Thus, FIBO not only promotes professional exchange around the topics of health, therapy and wellness at the actual trade show in Cologne. As a member of initiatives and associations such as "Exercise is Medicine" and "EuropeActive", FIBO is committed to combating a lack of exercise all year round and worldwide.
This is also where HYROX comes in. Because HYROX elevates actual workouts to a competition. For more motivation, more routines and more health. For example, eight one-kilometer runs have to be completed at a start, between each of which a workout station has to be visited. Here, typical exercises from the fields of functional training, Crossfit and athletic training are demanded in a high-intensity interval training (HIIT). Whoever gets through the course of Ski Ergometer, Sled Push, Sled Pull, Burpee Broad Jump, Rowing Ergometer, Kettleball Farmer Carry, Sandbag Lunches and Wall Balls the fastest wins.
"We are pleased to bring HYROX, a low-threshold event for everyone, to FIBO, which requires very effective training of endurance and muscle strength in its preparation," Frank continued. "Every visitor can participate in the race according to their age group and gender - depending on their own fitness, even in doubles or in a team relay."
