Regular training operations begin this week at the new McFIT studio on Frankenstrasse in Regensburg - a historic moment for Europe's most successful fitness provider with more than 1.7 million members. This is because the new location marks an important milestone in the company's history with the 250th McFIT studio. In 1997, Rainer Schaller founded the company with his first "Fitnesshalle für alle", Rainer Schaller established the discount concept on the German fitness market. Free training on equipment was thus available to many more people than in the time before. With the idea of fair prices, convenient opening hours and the right variety of training, McFIT played a decisive role in turning a marginal sport into a mass phenomenon. Today, fitness sports have more members in this country than are registered in soccer clubs. Over the course of the last 21 years, studios have of course also changed, which is impressively evident in Regensburg.
The new studio offers everything a fitness enthusiast's heart desires on an area of 2,240 square meters and two levels: In addition to an exceptionally large area for holistic functional training a huge Cardio Park countless free weights as well as racks there is a separate area for female members, which is also equipped with the latest line of equipment from the renowned manufacturer gym80 equipment. In addition, all fans of group training get their money's worth in the almost 200 square meter course room - whether with "McFIT Live" with real trainers or the virtual CYBEROBICS® with well-known coaches from the USA. Also included in the monthly fee are the so-called "Open Group Workouts" in the studio space.
McFIT company spokesman Pierre Geisensetter is convinced that the latest generation of studios is catching on: "Admittedly, it took us a little longer to open this location, but what goes around comes around. The studio has a great atmosphere, people are guaranteed to enjoy working out here, and although we are expanding worldwide as a group, I am personally happy that we are opening McFIT number 250 in Regensburg. We have been running a very successful studio there for 20 years. Many of the members have remained loyal to us virtually since the very beginning, and so our new facility is also a thank-you to the McFIT-enthusiastic community in the cathedral city, which has been awarded World Heritage status. I am sure that we have once again set a benchmark with the current McFIT 2018 product and will gain many fans.
